Taking Care Of The Outside

What is Important About Skin Care?

Good skin care is important for the following reasons: It helps your skin stay in good condition: You’re shedding skin cells throughout the day, so it’s important to keep your skin glowing. An effective routine can help prevent acne, treat wrinkles, and help keep your skin looking and feeling its best.

What Is Dermaplane?

The Epidermal layer of our skin (the top layer) forms new skin cells about every 30 days. This layer of our skin holds many important functions for the health and appearance of our skin; it protects us from environmental factors, keeps our skin hydrated, produces new skin cells, and even aids in determining the color of our skin.

With all that we do to and expose our skin to on a daily basis, Dermaplaning can be a great treatment to keep our Epidermis producing healthy cells more quickly, as well as help to lessen mild acne scarring. Dermaplaning aims to make your skin’s surface smooth, youthful, and radiant. It’s also used to remove “peach fuzz,” or what is technically called vellus hair, including above and around the mouth and by the ears, as well as over the entire face.

It may also help to eliminate the regular creation of small blackheads on the surface of the skin. Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim dead skin cells and hair from your face. Other terms used in the medical aesthetics field for dermaplaning are microplaning or blading.

Why Dermaplane?

Dermaplaning can be used for any skin type and anyone with:

What to Expect

You don’t need to plan any downtime to recover from a dermaplaning treatment. You may experience redness or feel like your skin is scraped in the two or three days right after the procedure.

You may notice that your skin looks brighter immediately after you’re finished with a dermaplaning treatment, but it often takes a few days to appreciate the full results. As any redness subsides, you’ll be able to see the results more clearly in the days afterward.

The results of dermaplaning aren’t permanent. The procedure claims to clear away up to three weeks’ worth of dead skin cells. After three weeks to a month, your results will have faded.

After a dermaplaning treatment, you’ll need to be extra careful about sun exposure. Sun damage could reverse the effects of dermaplaning, or create pigment blotches on your freshly uncovered skin cells. In the weeks after a dermaplaning treatment, don’t leave the house without wearing sunscreen on your face.

FAQs

Your provider will use a very small blade that has been sterilized to carefully scrape dead skin cells and fine hair off the Epidermis, of the top/ outermost layer of the skin. Your provider will hold your skin taut while angling the blade as it scrapes across the skin.

This procedure usually takes about 20 minutes and is not painful.

Dermaplaning can be done by itself, but is often used in combination with other treatments for additional benefits. If you and your provider agree to other treatments, dermaplaning is typically the first treatment completed, as it offers a “clean slate” for your provider to work from.

Other treatments that patients often receive after dermaplaning include facials, chemical peels, the Plasma Pen or Skin Pen Microneedling, and may also sometimes be a pre-treatment to the CO2 laser treatment of the Morpheus 8 Skin Tightening Laser treatment. Your provider will discuss these options with you.

Some patients may choose to start with dermaplaning and a facial and then plan for future services to address more intense skin concerns during your next treatment.

Dermaplaning may appear too simple of a technique to offer any significant benefits. However, regular dermaplaning has proven to be an effective treatment to eliminate mild acne and mild scarring, regular hair growth and “peach-fuzz” as well as creating a more youthful glow to the skin.  Skin texture and tone can also be positively affected with regular dermaplaning.

Recovery Expectations

There is no downtime after this procedure. If dermaplaning is the only procedure you have, many
people will apply sunscreen and makeup and head out for the day.

The most important next steps you need to take after receiving a dermaplaning treatment is to be
diligent about using sunscreen regularly and try to stay away from a great amount of sun exposure.

Stay away from tanning or using tanning beds.

It is possible you may experience the feeling that your skin was scraped and there may be some residual redness for a few days after the procedure. However, many people notice a brightened skin surface almost immediately after treatment. It typically takes a few days or so to notice the full effects of the treatment.

It’s important to be aware that the results of dermaplaning are not permanent. From research about this treatment, it appears dermaplaning may clear away up to about three weeks’ of dead skin cells in one treatment. This can become an expensive treatment depending upon your overall needs. This is not a permanent solution and results do fade after anywhere from two to four weeks after treatment so it is important to set a treatment plan with your provider ahead of time to clarify the amount of dermaplaning treatments.

This is a great treatment for women who are pregnant or have hormone changes that vary. It is also a great treatment for individuals that have Rosacea, as it is a much gentler treatment than others that may negatively affect the Rosacea.

You can choose from the NeoRevive which is a glowing and hydration facial or you can choose the NeoBright facial which is a skin-lightening facial that makes you feel light, bright, and fresh.

NeoRevive

Active ingredients:

Hyaluronic Acid –  increases hydration and minimizes the loss of moisture from the skin. Hyaluronic acid creates volume by binding with water, enhancing the density and elasticity of the skin, and therefore smoothing the wrinkles.

Retinol – one of the best anti-aging solutions. Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A and is clinically proven to aid in the increase in collagen and new skin cell synthesis.

Peptides – stimulate collagen synthesis as well as tighten and rejuvenate the skin.  Peptides are tiny protein fragments, which allow the skin to retain liquids more readily. When combined with hyaluronic acid, a synergic effect is created which facilitates the regeneration and restoration of the skin.

NeoBright

Active ingredients:

Azelaic Acid – treats acne, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone decreasing the activity of cells, which synthesize pigments.

Кojic Acid – suppresses the synthesis of melanin. When combined with azelaic acid, a synergic effect of lightening and brightening occurs.

Retinol –a derivative of vitamin A, proven to help aid in the increase of collagen and new skin cell synthesis. Retinol is one of the best anti-aging solutions.

Step 1

The combined effect of the capsule and Neo Revive/ Neo Bright will bring:

Mechanical exfoliation:

Exfoliation of the surface layer of the skin, the vibrating massage exfoliates by removing dead cells. The

regeneration of the epidermis is stimulated, pigmentations are diminished, the skin regenerates and microcirculation and lymph drainage are improved.

Delicate chemical peeling:

The combination of different acids rejuvenates and smooths the skin and preps it to accept active ingredients.

Infusion:

Capsules clean the skin, prep the skin for infusion of active ingredients: NeoRevive™ for anti-aging and rejuvenation or NeoBright ™ for brightening gray dull skin and improving skin texture.

Oxygenation of the skin /oxygen enrichment/:

The oxygen capsule generates CO2 bubbles, which are released on the surface of the skin creating a physiological reaction, by delivering oxygen-rich blood into the treated zone. This interaction increases the blood circulation and metabolism of the skin. The oxygenation to the cells provides optimum absorption of the active substances.

Step 2

Neo Massage:

After cleansing the face with the vibrating massage, the Neo Revive or Neo Bright is applied to the skin which includes active ingredients.

Ultrasound technology:

  • Increases the penetration and the absorption
  • Improves blood circulation and cell metabolism
  • Tightens the pores, helps with the retention of moisture, and minimizes swelling around the eyes.

RF/Multipolar radiofrequency:

The multipolar radiofrequency will heat up the tissue in order to tighten and lift the skin, decrease wrinkles and contour the face. In addition, it helps to stimulate new collagen in the tissue.

Overall results

  • Activates the creation of new cells
  • Smooths and lifts the skin
  • Reduces swelling around the eyes
  • Softens fine lines and wrinkles
  • Lightens pigmented areas
  • Improves moisture retention and hydrates the skin

FAQs

As the experts suggest, facials are good for the skin as they improve it’s health. Deep cleansing and exfoliation allow for a greater cell turnover, resulting in softer, more even skin that is less prone to breakouts and shows fewer signs of ageing.

Setting those factors aside, the general recommendation is for a facial every three to four weeks or once a month. That’s how long your skin’s life cycle is. After three or four weeks, your skin cells grow back. Facials help this process and assure your skin always glows.
